I have gotten some real good advice on this forum. I am still trying to get the hang of maintaining a pin ...Many Thanks...In the manual for Spy Hunter they refer to a playfield piece called a "Boop Ball" and a "saucer". I checked the pinball glossary. I am not sure what they are...anyone know?

A saucer is usually a small hole in the playfield that the ball can go in. It holds it for a while and scores and then kicks it back out into the playfield. I presume a boop ball is the same thing as a captured ball. Its a ball on the playfield held in by posts that you hit your ball in play into for points.
Hope that helps.

Phinfan,
Generally these ODDBALL names can be found on the playfield card located on the apron(located on the lower left of the playfield) if you don't have one you can generally find them in IPDP.org doing a search for your particular game.
Upon further review of spy hunter the instruction cards do not have the playfield layout. If you want to print out new cards for your machine, go to IPDB.org - search spy hunter then D/L Files: 93 KB ZIP Reproduction Score and Instruction Cards (including German)

It could be if it was an easy fix. Not sure what might be wrong with it.
If you are in the area stop by and see if you can take a look at it.
Working I would think they would be in the $600-$1000 range, but not really sure.

Spy Hunter is the first (and only) pin I own. I have had such a good experience with it I will own others... I have great memories of playing pinball at the local bowling alley when I was younger. This machine has brought all that flooding back and I kinda get a kick out of not paying to play.... If you do buy it, I could send you the manual if you cant find it online...

If it was closer to NC I would buy it. It has great lights and sounds...With the help of the people on this forum and the number of vendors online it sounds like it would be a good project.
